Hey ATLiens, We are Calaveritas, an authentic vegan taqueria, that is focused on keeping traditions and animals alive. Our journey began in 2024 when we started doing pop-up events. While this was a great experience, we discovered hardships and challenges in providing you all the best service possible. Some of the obstacles that we faced were crazy, unpredictable weather (You know what Georgia is like), permitting costs, and truck failure. In response to this, we wanted to grow into a food trailer to allow us to serve more people and be more reliable. To make this happen, we had to lease a kitchen to have permits for a trailer. This also meant that we had to grow and double our team. While this was great for the business and improved our service, it led us to a large overhead cost that needed to be sustained. Thanks to your support, we have been able to continue to share our food with y'all. However, this does not come without its challenges. Some of the challenges that we have been facing are truck repairs, replacing the hood motor, replacing our generator, flat tires, weather patterns, and unexpected maintenance costs. When these obstacles came up, we were not able to vend for a day or sometimes the week. This was crippling for our team and put a dent in the growth that we have been experiencing. We were on track to move into our new window spot in Chamblee without any outside help, yet unexpected events forced us to ask for the help of our community. Your donations will be used to purchase a grill, prep tables, steam tables, outside seating, new uniforms, new menu items, hiring team members, marketing expenses and much more. Any support that we receive will help us bring Calaveritas into a home base that will be open more days and longer hours to keep serving y'all.
