What an emotional journey this has become for us! After struggling with no real answers for two years to become pregnant, we are finally filled with hope and are on our way to becoming parents! We recently discovered that the cancer treatment Evan received as a child not only left him completely blind, but has also left him sterile; unable to have biological children. This was such heartbreaking news for us because we absolutely love children and have always wanted to become parents! After the initial shock of the diagnosis, we did some research and have decided to pursue embryo adoption! We met with Dr. Corfman at the Midwest Center for Reproductive Health in Maple Grove last week, and are now officially on the waiting list to receive our little snowflakes!During the appointment we discussed the physical, emotional, and financial aspects of this process and right now, it all feels overwhelming. Embryo adoption, while cheaper than some other procedures or domestic adoption, is still expensive. We have to wait what feels like forever to be matched with donors, and I will need to undergo hormone treatment and invasive medical procedures to become pregnant. We truly believe that this is and always has been God’s plan for our lives, we believe He knows exactly which snowflake babies will be matched to us and when, and we can’t wait to meet them! While we are very excited, it’s easy to feel discouraged and overwhelmed by all the things that have to be done and put into place before this can happen. It’s frustrating and unfair to feel like everyone around you can get pregnant with little effort, while we struggle to scrape together the money and courage to take this journey, but we know it will be worth it in the end when we earn the title“Mom and Dad” !!Would you please consider joining us in support financially, or with your kind words and prayers? We can’t do this alone!Thank you so much for all the love and support!
