As most of you know by now, our Pitmaster, Pat Reule, had a heart attack while at the Canterbury Renaissance Faire.... For those of you who didn't know, surprise! It was sure a surprise for us as well. Thankfully, he's alive and on the road to recovery. THANK YOU to all who have reached out with good wishes, we very much appreciate it. Prior to this bit of excitement, Pat was dealing with a pinched nerve that left his right arm unusable for a few weeks. The combined loss of work and income has left Hungry Hog in a very precarious position. The recovery from the heart attack will be at least a month of rest and rehabilitation, which means no pop-up events or shows for us. We know, we wish we were out making bbq too! In the meantime, we need to ask for some help. Between medical expenses and vehicle/trailer breakdowns, we're in a tough spot. The loss of shows and the loss of the ability to work for the month of August, the financial hit has been devastating! With help, we can get Pat back in cooking shape and get back on the road, better than ever before. We're working on a few projects to take The Hungry Hog to the next level, and we can't wait to show you. Funds raised will be used for: 1. Living expenses while Pat is recovering. Nothing is getting less expensive, and being out of work is no fun. 2. Making sure our BBQ trailer is ship-shape. We had two blowouts on the trailer last week, and the truck and trailer need some repairs to make it roadworthy. Funds will be used for general maintenance and repairs as well as recovering from unexpected expenses. 3. Allowing us to have some breathing room to research and connect with new and bigger shows across the US, especially right here at home in California. For every donation, we're working on a special thank-you gift. We could not do what we do without you, and we want to make sure that you know that. With your help, we can make The Hungry Hog the premier BBQ in the West!
