Hi! My name is Heather, I know many of you will know me because I have been a voice and advocate for my cousin Kristy's health for many years. Life has not been fair to Kristy, and I will never understand why. But, I have peace knowing it is not for me to understand. Kristy was diagnosed with FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) as a child. She had her first biopsy at age 6. FCGS is a nephrotic syndrome in children and adolescents as well as an important cause of kidney failure in adults. Kristy was placed on dialysis in 2008 when she was in end stage kidney failure. She received the gift of life in a kidney from a cadaver on July 10th 2014. Fast forward to 2024 and she was in urgent need of another kidney transplant. A life donor had been found and she was hoping for surgery early August 2024 but also fearful she might not make it that long... Fast forward to July 2024. I am starting this LFEBridge to help her husband, Tony. As most of you know, Kristy had a heart attack early Sunday morning (July 3rd 2024). Right now, the doctors are not optimistic. Her brain is showing a constant seizure and the doctors believe she went 15-19 minutes without oxygen. While she is still unresponsive in ICU, the fear is that she may be brain dead. We don't live in fear, we live in FAITH and we are claiming miraculous Healing that only God can do. In the meantime, as we all know, bills or responsibilities do not stop even in the midst of chaos. I really want to make sure that Tony is able to be at the hospital with her every step of the way and not working his butt off in the Florida heat and then rushing to be by her side after work. He needs to take care of himself too. Not to mention, the medical bills will add up regardless. Please help me take some of this burden off him by considering a donation. Big or small, they all help.
