On Saturday, July 15th, my nephew Hudson was diagnosed with AML leukemia. Hudson is only 11 weeks old and is facing impossible battles. Hudson's parents, Rachel Davis-Cossette, and Zach Cossette are gearing up for the fight of a lifetime. Hudson will begin chemo therapy today, Monday, July 17th, and will be in Upstate Golisano's Children's Hospital for at least 3 weeks during treatment. After that, he will have to return for possibly multiple 3-week stays until he kicks leukemia's butt. With all of this being said, Rachel and Zach are going to need immense support from family, friends, community, and even strangers. Rachel and Zach are also the parents of a 14-year-old daughter, Addison, and an 11-year-old son Mason, who need continued support during this tough time. With Hudson only being 11 weeks old, he is breastfed so Mama (Rachel) will be in the hospital with him for the entire duration. Zach is employed at Cossette Landscaping and Excavating, and unfortunately will not be able to stay with Rachel and Hudson for the entire stay, so he will be driving back and forth multiple times per week. As you could imagine, the expense of transportation, in addition to the reduced income, finances will be tremendously difficult to manage. I know that Zach, Rachel, Addison, Mason, and Hudson all greatly appreciate any contribution you can make. For the time being, Rachel and Zach are understandably overwhelmed, so please, no messages or calls at this time. If you have questions feel free to reach out to Jaclyn Moyer, Alishia Davis, Amy Marris, Jennifer Merritt or Rebecca Hinman.
