Dear Friends and Family: Chris Anderson is a close friend of mine. I’m starting this LFEBridge on behalf of Chris and his family of five to provide a little financial support during a particularly difficult time. If you know Chris personally, you know what an amazing human being he is. Regardless of your connection with him, I can tell you he is the absolute salt of the earth. Chris shows both friends and strangers alike, unselfish kindness, acceptance, and respect, regardless of what he receives in return. He follows his moral compass with more loyalty and resolve than anyone I’ve ever known. He is a true role model we could all look up to. I have worked with Chris for over three years and not surprisingly, he is always the first to show up when anyone on our team asks for a helping hand. Now, it’s he and his family who I believe need a hand, so this is me “showing up” for my friend Chris. Here’s what happened: Chris Anderson and his wife Sabrina have been married for 16 years and have 4 beautiful children ages 11, 12, 16 and 19. On June 30th, Sabrina underwent outpatient surgery to have the battery replaced in a pacemaker she has worn for about 12 years. At home the next day, Sabrina became unconscious and could not be revived by her daughter. She was rushed to the hospital, where they discovered a large blood clot in her brain. Two emergency bypass surgeries were required to stabilize her, followed by 8 days in the ICU and more testing, when another clot was found in her thigh, and a small perforation in the back of her heart. Sabrina is currently in the convalescent wing at the hospital undergoing physical, speech, and occupational therapy. The family is hoping she will be released in 7 to 10 days, but know that she will continue to need 24-hour care at home. While health insurance should cover a respectable portion of the medical bills, it certainly won’t cover all of them. Nor will it cover the loss of the household income (Sabrina was starting a new job that Monday) or the lost time at work for Chris. I know they could use some help. If you find it in your heart to help support the Anderson family at this difficult time, please consider a gift of cash through LFEBridge, of any amount you feel able to give. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated.
