My name is Jessica and I’m raising money to help my mom, Tanya Damante, while she battles breast cancer. A little while ago, my mom got the news that she has cancer. These past few months have been very hard for her and everyone in her life. She had 6 rounds of chemo that made her feel very unwell, but she still worked as much as possible taking care of residents at a nursing home 12 hours a day. Now she is unable to work and must take care of herself. She is getting a mastectomy on July 18th, and will be out of work recovering for around 6 weeks. Then she has to do 35 rounds of radiation. During this time, I want her to rest as much as possible and not have to stress about rent, bills, and work. A few months before my mom’s diagnoses, my Nani (her mother) moved in with us because she became very sick and could no longer live on her own. My mom took care of her nonstop while also working full-time and providing for her children. Sadly, my Nani has since passed away. My mom truly deserves a break and to enjoy her life as much as possible while she overcomes this battle. She is the most hardworking and caring person you will ever meet!
