Hello, my name is Monica Balyer and I am fundraising for my beautiful niece, Ashley Below. Ashley was diagnosed, at age 30, with stage 3 colon cancer in December of 2024. She went through surgery and treatment. In June of 2024 she finished her 12th chemo treatment & blood tests showed she was "cancer free." Unfortunately, the cancer came back just 4-short months later. She had to have a 2nd surgery and additional grueling treatments. The treatments have not been working and the cancer has progressed to stage IV metastatic colon cancer to her liver and abdomen. She is currently going through the process to get approved for a clinical trial. Ashley is a hard-working single Mom to her 12-year-old daughter, Carolynn. She has continued to work and be the best Mother while fighting this battle. It is uncertain how much longer she will be able to work considering the amount of pain Ashley is in from this terrible disease. I can't imagine fighting for my life while having to work and worry about how I am going to pay for the medical treatments that I need to survive. Not to mention, the stress of paying for the everyday expenses to keep a roof over her and her daughter's head. This is why I wanted to start this LFEBridge for Ashley.
