In May, our family received the gut wrenching news that my mother, Penny was diagnosed with head and neck cancer. A month later, while in surgery, doctors came to the realization that the mass had grown and spread. Surgery was stopped at that time. This unfortunate discovery has since lead to a new path for treatment. Penny will soon be taking on the emotionally and physically exhausting duo, chemotherapy and radiation. While we are hopeful and remaining positive, the undeniable emotions of stress and worry are on the surface as new medical and monthly bills are flowing in. Like any loved one that goes through a medical crisis, our family does not want Penny to endure the stress of financial hardship during this time. We want Penny to not only focus on the fight, but also see the support and love that she has behind her. Our family has set up this LFEBridge in hopes of getting that financial support that she desperately needs. To know Penny, is to love her. She is truly one of a kind. She is one of the most loving, forgiving, and kindest people. She welcomes everyone with open arms, and has never met a stranger. Everyone calls her “mom” or “grandma” because she without hesitation, fills those roles for everyone. The happiness of others is what fills Penny’s cup. And I know it seems cliche, but if you know Penny, you’d agree that she would quite literally would give you the shirt off of her back or her last dollar. Penny is the “home” feeling in human form. There are 3 things that you can do to help Penny and our family during this time: 1. Share, share, share! I know that monetary support is not always an option. Sharing this LFEBridge is something small that you can do to support Penny by spreading the word and adding prayers. 2. Donations. These donations will help Penny go through this very scary journey without worrying about the financial stress of monthly bills or new ones that pop up. Alleviating this type of stress can significantly change her mindset in a positive way during this trying time! 3. Prayers and positive vibes. If praying is your thing, please add Penny to your list. Bring her name up when you talk to your God and ask him to be with her during this time. If praying is not your thing, I ask that you send Penny any positive vibes you can. A small message of support can go a very long way. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read through this. Our family appreciates it so very much!
