Hello Friends! Last fall I was diagnosed with Ledderhose Disease, a rare condition that produces hard, painful lumps in the bottom of my feet. With this diagnosis, and the possibility that the pain in my feet could get much worse I realized that if I wanted to fulfill my dream of thru-hiking the Superior Hiking Trail the time must be now!! I will be hitting the trail mid-September and spending about a month backpacking. I have an additional week built into the end of the trip for recovery and reacclimation to life outside the woods. I intend to post updates on my blog "The Driftless Wanderer" as I am able while on trail. When I return, I will use my blog to give a day-by-day recount of my adventure. However, to accomplish this dream, I would appreciate your help. I have spent most of my savings on gear and I cannot go a month without any wages.
