In this amazing close-knit community, so many know and love Emma Brooks (Moore) and her family. As many of you may already know, her family was struck with a devastating and very scary medical situation with Mason last week. Mason has been out of sorts since school ended, and in order to meet his sensory needs he found a corner in the house and ingested paint chips- causing a very high lead level in his most recent blood draw. He has been in Albany Medical Pediatric Hospital receiving treatment for high lead levels since Thursday. This has been an extremely stressful and trying time for the Brooks Family. Due to this very unexpected emergency, hundreds of dollars have been spent on trying to remedy their current home so it would be safe for Mason to return to, gas traveling back and forth to the hospital has started adding up, and wages have been lost because Aaron has been with his family during this time of need…. But then today the family was informed by the doctor that Mason will not be released to go home once treatment is complete until they find a new place to live. This news comes with even more financial stress. Emma and her family have spent their time today working on possible solutions, but no solution comes without major financial issues. This go fund me was setup to create an avenue for anyone who’s interested in helping reduce some of the financial burden and stress from their lives. We all know both Emma and Aaron are some of the kindest and most giving humans, so let’s help relieve them of any stress we can! ***They were very hesitant to allow a go fund me to be created because they have a pre-paid family Disney trip planned for next month. I know that in this community, there are so many of us wanting to help out, who also understand that the trip was pre-paid and will be exactly what they need after coming out of the other side of this terrible situation. We also know that so many people would want to be able to provide immediate support, regardless of this planned trip. *** *Update- We are in the process of starting to get estimates for the lead abatement while also balancing out other options. The list is extensive and costly so I have increased our goal so we can continue to raise money and help Mason and his family out! This outpouring of donations has left the family speechless. Thank you all so so much from the bottom of our hearts.
