The time has finally come. For those of you that have been following Abby & JB's journey, you already know the story. But for the rest of you, let me fill you in. First, I am Abby's mom and JB Aunt. But it's way more than that. Our family is close, these two are even closer. Like brother and sister. JB was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy in 2012. This is an autoimmune disease that attacks your kidneys. He wasn't feeling well, went to the ER and was found to be in complete renal failure, heart failure and severely hypertensive (high blood pressure). He was diagnosed with less than 10% renal function. He was only 28 years old. He spent several days in ICU, was started on temporary hemodyalsis, blood pressure drips all with no insurance. And he was told that he didn't qualify for assitance. So, he proceeds to work full-time, bartends on the side, gets himself into shape both physically & spiritually in order to try for a kidney transplant. In 2014, he was given the clearance by CCF to proceed to locate a donor & be placed on the transplant list. Abby was one of the first to be tested. And we all knew she would be his match. There is just a special bond between these two. And she found out she was!! She has gone through a multitude of tests and finally has the approval of the Transplant Board. She is the minimal age they will accept for a living donor at 21. And she has never given it a second thought. JB is a prisoner to his peritoneal diaysis-10 hrs a day every day to fit into his work schedule. He gets one hour A DAY to himself. That's it. 365 days. He now has about 3% kidney function but is the healthiest he's ever been despite that. And Abby is now medically cleared to give him the gift of life. We are setting up this account to help with expenses. JB's insurance covers the transplant but both of these hard-working people will need help with day-to-day expenses as they will be out of work. Just like everyone, there will be rent, utilities and medications that will need to be covered. Please consider helping these two finish their journey. Some of you have supported them from day one. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God has blessed us with these two very unique people. Please, if God puts it on your heart to donate then thank you in advance. If you can even just lift them in prayer, now and until revcovered, that will mean so much to us all. God bless.
