Hi, my name is Kendra. Next to me, you'll find my best girl and Director of Security, River. I'm an herbalist and beginner farmer, completing formal farm training this season. This journey to farming using healing plants is a long one. I'm a second-generation farmer and herbalist. My grandfather worked very hard cultivating the land in his care and his mother, my great grandmother used all sorts of plants and roots to tend to our family's ailments. I've been learning about and growing herbs in some capacity for about 20 years. Practical Botanicals was officially launched in early 2024 when I obtained an FSA farm and tract number. At our Maryland-based micro-farm, we grow medicinal plants and culinary herbs and will be offering seedlings, cut herbs and some unique handcrafted items. Sustainable growing practices are important to us so no chemical pesticides or fertilizers are ever used. Our mission is to improve the health of our community through connection to and education about these plants. A greenhouse space is crucial to starting enough seedlings to take to market and extend our growing season. We will need to hire out for anchoring the structure to the foundation but will be able to complete the rest of the build ourselves. So excited to grow these plants for y'all! Your help is most appreciated as we begin our farm business journey. Thanks for your support!
