Hi, my name is Rev. Deb Lawson, pastor of Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville, IL. I'm setting up this LFEBridge fundraiser to help a wonderful family through some hard times. Steve, Christina, and their daughter Kaylynn have had a couple of hard years. Christina developed a medical condition for which she is now on disability. In June, Steve was unexpectedly rushed to the hospital and into intensive care. He is not yet cleared to go back to work, so they are trying to make it on Christina's disability check. This is not sustainable! I hope to reach a goal of $10,000 to give them 6-months of living expenses. Anything you can give is appreciated. I'm sharing Christina's story in her words : Hi, my name is Christina (Gibson) Smith. My husband is Steve and we have a daughter Kaylynn. On June 2nd, Steve suffered a medical emergency and was flown to Saint Louis University where he was on a ventilator for 3 days, in ICU, then moved to a regular room until the 9th. He was in the hospital for 7 days. So far, we haven't seen any lingering deficits and for that, we are extremely thankful and feel very blessed. However, he is off work until he is fully recovered and doctors say that could be for a while. I was deemed disabled in 2017 because of my own health issues. so, if you are able to help, we are looking for some assistance to help us take care of our household needs until he can return to work. Funds would be used for housing, electricity, water, phone, and gasoline as we go to and from doctor appointments for both of us. We thank you in advance and pray that God Blesses us all!
