Shari is in desperate need of an expensive medical device to allow her to live a normal life. Cancer treatment in 2010 caused damage to her lymph nodes, and the resulting lymphedema requires daily intervention to maintain range of motion and limit pain. This money will cover the cost of a Flexitouch Plus system which mimics manual lymph drainage, moving excess fluid from the swollen areas toward healthier parts of the body where it can be absorbed. What is lymphedema? Swelling in an arm or leg caused by a lymphatic system blockage. The condition is caused by a blockage in the lymphatic system, part of the immune and circulatory systems. Lymphedema is most commonly caused by lymph node removal or damage due to cancer treatment. We are so grateful for your love and support for Shari over the years!
