I got my cat Picasso over 12 years ago and he’s been my rock ever since especially last year when I was dealing with a very difficult time in my private life. He is such a friendly, sweet and happy cat who loves to explore and play. It just broke my heart recently when he was not eating much and drinking much water for a couple days in which I took him to the vet. Thinking he may have eaten plastic or contaminated food, the vet told me that I had to take him to West LA VCA hospital urgently. I found out that my cat had severe pancreatitis which led to diabetes. He also developed fluid in his chest due to the inflammation of the pancreatitis. He had been hospitalized in critical care for 3 days. To make matters worse, I don’t have any pet insurance. I had to make the choice to take on the debt or put him to sleep, It is heartbreaking that these are the only two options. I was able to take him home but I will have to give him insulin twice a day for the rest of his life. This “go fund me fundraiser is going towards covering the medical costs which include the emergency hospital visit, the ultrasounds, X-rays, echocardiogram, the blood tests, insulin, follow up appointments and any ongoing future expenses. If I can get some help with this bill, I will never forget those who donate, and you can rest assured that you can tag me for any way I can help you in the future, once I am stable.
