March 2nd started as a typical day. Sandy Woke up to assist in the showing of the home of her childhood friend and daughter. Little did she know that she was edging closer to the moment that would change her life forever. Within a few short morning hours Sandy would suffer from a massive Stroke. On the day of the stroke, sandy was rushed to a Local Oceana Hospital by ambulance, once at the hospital, the doctors quickly determined that emergency surgery to remove Clots from her Brain was needed. Sandy spent her first week in the ICU and then transferred down to the PCU where she spent and additional 2 weeks. She was then transferred to the rehabilitation floor within the same hospital, to begin the process on how to relearn the use of her right side again, gaining the strength to talk, walk and take care of her daily needs. Unfortunately, her speech, cognition, and mobility, which left her paralyzed from her right side, are significantly impacted due to her stroke. Once Discharged, she will continue the need for intensive therapy (Physical, speech, occupational) to improve her quality of life. We’re writing to ask you to help Sandy a mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Friend deal with the huge high-cost expenses associated with her Stroke. Just a small donation can help her tremendously. Your donation will go toward: • Occupational Therapists • Physical Therapists • Speech & Language Pathologists • Nurses • Wheelchair • Walker • Handicap accessible bathing and mobility aids • Diapers • Bed Pads • Monthly Bills (Rent/Utilities/Groceries) We know that life happens fast and tragic; unexpected moments can happen to any of us. And if you are able, please donate for Sandy’s medical bills, and rehabilitation to include medical equipment. Any help would be greatly appreciated to ease the stress of this time.
