Recently and very unexpectedly the world tragically lost the effervescent Karen Lang, after she died from complications following the birth of Rowan and Karen's longed for, second child - Lincoln. Karen was such a shining light for so many, and an unstoppable go-getter with such a zest and passion for life, love and her family and friends; as well as being a very talented lawyer. Karen's loving fiance and father of their two darlings - Rowan Geddes, has been doing a stoic job following Karen's passing - juggling so many commitments and responsibilities; navigating extensive legal and administrative burdens across continents; managing complex health challenges with baby Lincoln; and parenting a newborn and a pre-schooler. All whilst dealing with the unexpected grief and loss of losing the love of his life so unexpectedly, and in such devastating circumstances. During these recent months, Rowan has been ably cared for, supported and assisted by Karen's wonderful family, and their friends. However, as time goes on, and Rowan continues to navigate the complexities of life without Karen, including the extensive legal and administrative hurdles that await, we wanted to try and give Rowan some additional assistance and support, and offer a way for those that care for Rowan, Larissa and baby Lincoln, and of course darling Karen, to contribute and try to ease the financial worries of the family. To this end, we are planning to organise and fund nannying assistance for Rowan and Karen's two children for three days a week for an initial six months - until the end of this year, and also fund a weekly cleaner for them too. If there is additional funds raised, we will put this towards a meal plan or program for the family for this period too. It takes a village to raise a child, and in this particular circumstance, it's imperative that we show Rowan and the kids that their village is here to envelope and support them in any way we can. From our inquiries in relation to the likely costs of a nanny and cleaning service, it has been calculated that the cost of this support until the end of the year is approximately $25k. At Rowan's request, all contributions will go into a bank account controlled and administered by Karen's good friends - Erin Cassidy and Kate O'Connor and will be given to Rowan. The funds raised will be used towards these services for Rowan and his children, until the end of the year. Thank you for your support !
