Hello! My name is Kyrie, and I'm Pearl's mom. I am reaching out with a humble request for help. This fundraiser is to cover Pearl's extensive medical expenses, which were incurred during an 8-day emergency period, involving three visits. The total cost of $25,000 includes various tests, scans, labs, smaller procedures, surgery, her emergency stay, and essential medications. Pearl and I live together in Dallas, Tx, and I work a normal 9-5 job as an Assistant Warehouse Manager. While I had some savings for emergencies, I never anticipated the expenses to escalate so quickly. Pearl means the world to me, and I love her like my own child. I would do anything for her if I can. She deserves the best care and every available option, which is why I am seeking support to cover her accumulated expenses and provide her with the best possible care. Let me share a little backstory of Miss Pearl with you. Pearl came into our lives through the Lone Star Bulldog Rescue after a family abandoned her. My family and I fostered her for almost a year before finding her a forever home. Unfortunately, after three years, the family couldn't keep her, and she was returned to the rescue. We fostered her again and noticed that she wasn't the aggressive dog they described. She was a delight, kind, sweet, happy bundle of joy. I had grown such a strong connection/love for her, I adopted her in 2024. She became an integral part of my life - my ride-or-die companion, brightening every moment with her joyful personality. Recently, Pearl faced unexpected health issues. She developed fluid around her heart (pericardium), causing difficulties in her heart's functioning. Despite multiple tests and scans, we couldn't pinpoint the cause. Eventually, a CT Scan revealed a rare tumor on her heart sack (pericardium), nestled among critical tendons and nerves. Her surgeon presented us with very difficult choices for the surgery, and I decided to give her a fighting chance. Pearl's medical journey has been an emotional rollercoaster, but I am determined to provide her with the best possible care. Pearl underwent the surgery, and thankfully, she made it out. The surgeon was able to perform the essential procedures, but removing the entire tumor was deemed too risky. We are now waiting for the biopsy results to plan her treatment moving forward. Pearl's recovery will take 3-4 weeks, and she is currently on five medications to aid her healing process. I have taken time off work to be by her side during this crucial period.
