To all friends, family, and even strangers who come across this, I am writing this today with watery eyes and a heavy heart. My grandpa was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with metastasis to the brain. My family and I are facing extremely overwhelming financial circumstances as we fight against cancer. Rex Baclig, my Papa, is the most generous, most loving, most selfless individual I have ever come across in my entire life. He would literally give you the shirt off his back, the money in his wallet, anything you ask for just to make sure you’re good. My grandpa has devoted his entire life to taking care of his family and making sure all of our needs are met. With his recent cancer diagnosis, it’s my turn now to devote my life to taking care of him. About a month ago, my grandpa was hospitalized for extreme right-sided weakness. After countless x-rays, cat scans, MRIs, bloodwork, etc the diagnosis was cancer of the lungs which had unfortunately spread to his brain. This news was a huge shock to us because he had always been so healthy and active- papa was literally our family’s designated babysitter, chauffeur, handyman, mechanic, and so much more. Radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy- these are all on the to-do list as my grandpa fights cancer. With that being said, these treatments are not cheap to say the least and we as a family are doing our best to put together our funds to provide him the best care possible. But we are quickly realizing that it won’t be enough. With just Medicare the cost of the treatments and medications that papa needs is very costly. This is the part where I am respectfully and humbly asking all of you- if you are in a position to contribute then please do so. My main goal of creating this LFEBridge is to raise enough money to care for my grandpa- whether that be his medical bills, prescription, food, and any other living expenses. We want him to have the absolute best care possible without having to worry him about how we’re going to pay for it. Your financial support will help us tremendously in the fight for my grandpa’s life. No donation is too little, and I sincerely and genuinely would appreciate any little thing. For those of you who can’t donate, please know that every share, every prayer, and every kind word is more than enough and I encourage you to keep them coming. If you know me personally, you’d know how hard it was for me to create this fundraiser because I would never, ever ask for help if I didn’t absolutely have to. I’m asking now. The world is a better place with my Papa in it. From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank you all for listening and considering donating during this difficult time.
