Our lovely, kind, and generous niece Paola was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2024. Because of this she underwent surgery to try and get rid of the cancer, resulting in the removal of her ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus. After all of this, she has recently learned that unfortunately the cancer is still in her body and is malignant. Even more upsetting is that the doctors are having a difficult time trying to pinpoint the location of the cancer making it harder for her to fight this unimaginable battle. Her life and survival DEPEND on finding this cancer in the hope of a surgery to remove it or identify where it is hiding to narrow the treatment target. Paola is only 39 years young, she lives in Guatemala, and is the backbone of her family. We are humbly asking our family and friends to help us raise the funds to assist with the costs associated with her URGENT PET/CT scan and surgery which is scheduled in just 3 weeks at which time she must pay in full. The current medical cost is $2,134 and does not include her transportation to/from the hospital. Also to make things more difficult, Paola is the only one in her household who is able to drive. Her mom relies on her to take her to dialysis twice a week, Paola also drives her sister to and from work daily, and also cares for her father who suffers from Alzheimers and Parkinsons.
