Hi, my name is Sara and I am raising funds for my friend, Nicole Whitehead, to receive urgent specialized medical care. Nicole is only 32 years old and has had chronic illness for YEARS. Unfortunately, her medical issues and symptoms have been masked with more medication and she has only gotten worse. She has been on year-long waiting lists to see specialists. She was recently on hospice care to be made comfortable and on pain management. She developed sepsis and was on the brink of death. She and her family were not ready to give up and began fighting for her life! She was treated with strong antibiotics for the sepsis. They took her off of hospice care and weaned her off of the heavy pain medication. She is now fighting to regain quality of life back and struggling with chronic pain. She has many chronic illnesses including Lyme’s disease, POTS, and EDS. She was recently accepted into the MAYO Clinic but must pay out of pocket for her treatment. Her appointment will be made on December 1st. The appointment alone will cost $5,000. The program will require her to start with a month long stay of treatment. Her family and friends are praying and believing that this will be the beginning of her recovery!
