Hello, My name is Regina and I’m a friend of Kristi since 2006. I started this LFEBridge on Kristi’s behalf because of the overwhelming requests to help the Willem family with all the expenses. On June 27th, Nick’s appendix ruptured and he went into sepsis. His blood infection was awful. The amount of stool and pus in his abdomen should have killed him. He went into kidney failure, had no blood flow to his bowels, his appendix and cecum were completely black and dead. On July 7th, they did emergency surgery to try and rectify all the problems. He had a bad bowel obstruction and kinked intestine as well as an abscess. He is in SO much pain, not getting much better and far from going home. He is still on NG tube and a drain for his intestines. Nick and Kristi have THREE small children. Emree, 8, Colton, 5 and Greyson 10, months. Kristi is a school teacher who thankfully is off for the summer and Nick works at KinderMorgan as a pump house operator and it is a physically demanding job. He will be out of work until he is recovered and we still don’t know the long term effects of all of this. Their new normal is just getting started and can use all the help they can get financially ….to not be burdened by the overwhelming medical bills after insurance and post hospital care. If you cannot donate, PLEASE PLEASE keep Nick, Kristi and their three babies in your prayers. They truly need them.
