Hi, my name is Chloe and I’m raising funds for my beautiful mother. Mum is such a fun, outgoing, loving & caring person who will put anyone else’s needs & happiness before her own. She and her husband of 19 years Nick have 5 children altogether (4 daughters and 1 son) and also now 5 grandsons that she absolutely adores! And of course her 2 dogs which she classes as her children . She recently got her dream job as a 999 police call handler which she has been working years to get and now helps 100’s of people on a daily basis which fills her with joy. 3 years ago she very suddenly started to suffer with TIAs (transient ischaemic attacks) and over the course of those years she also developed slight hearing loss & vertigo which she was told was due to an abscess in her tooth. She was going on a holiday of a lifetime to celebrate her 50TH birthday 4 weeks ago with her family and was given the go ahead to travel. Whilst away, she twisted her knee so a few days after coming home she visited A&E and that’s when everything changed. Looking at her, the doctor instantly took her for an MRI. That day on Monday the 26th of June our whole world fell apart, mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She was admitted to Southmead hospital immediately and one week later went for a 14 hour surgery to remove it. It was successful and the tumour was removed but after 4 hours out of theatre she took a turn for the worst and was rushed back into surgery with a bleed on the brain. The bleed was stabilised and she was starting to show signs of recovery but unfortunately the doctors then noticed she wasn’t reacting the way they would hope and she has once again been taken into surgery to relieve more pressure on her brain. At this stage we don’t know the effect this is going to have on mums recovery, we are hoping for the best. Her husband has been by her side every minute of every day and us as a family want to take as much worry away from him as possible, all of this has obviously hit them massively financially and will continue to throughout her recovery. Due to this being so sudden, we have had no time to prepare for this devastating situation which has meant that we as a family have had to take time off of work to support which has effected us all. Any money raised will allow us all to continue to support my mum and also allow her to have a smoother & faster recovery. We plan to use any funds donated to make her home more accessible to her by potentially adding a stair lift, medical equipment and also a new path in the garden as that is her happy place. Any help no matter how small is greatly appreciated, every share and word spread about my mums story means so much to her family. We want her home and well as soon as possible, back to her happy and fun loving self. Thank you so much for reading this and a huge thank you for your support, always xxxx
