Riccardi Jr. desperately needs to continue his intensive physical therapy at an inpatient rehabilitation facility, with the hope to one day regain his mobility and step into the world again. On the fateful day of April 12, 2024, my beloved son, Riccardi Jules Jr., faced a life-altering tragedy. A bullet, entering just above his heart and piercing through his left lung, made its way out from the back of his head, slightly chipping his spine. The past 16 months have been a whirlwind of surgeries, with the latest on July 28, 2024, and more to come. We have been moving from one hospital to another, praying for miracles at every turn. Before this heart-wrenching incident, Riccardi Jr. had a bright path laid out in front of him. He was not only pursuing higher education but had also taken the honorable step of enlisting in the National Guard. In a fleeting moment, all his dreams, aspirations, and plans were snatched away. Yet, amidst this storm, his unwavering spirit holds onto one hope - to heal from this profound trauma and reclaim the life he once envisioned. With your generous help, we believe we can bring that hope to life. He has made progress standing, and walking at his last physical rehabilitation. However, that was put to an abrupt halt because he needed another surgery on his knees. After his surgery even though the surgeons, doctors, and physical therapists informed continued rehabilitation was imperative to his continued progress, they simply cut off his coverage. Now he’s in the hospital recovering from his last surgery, and needs funding to continue rehabilitation.
