 Hello everyone. My name is Brooke Pishos and my husband is Alexios. The reason I am fundraising is to help support my husband with his ongoing battle with Crohn’s Disease. A little bit of a background. My husband and I met in 2019 and a few months into dating he was having medical symptoms of something, we were unsure at the time. We saw many doctors and specialists until we finally were given the diagnosis of Crohn’s disease. My husband and I went through many years fighting this disease silently as not a lot of people knew. My husband tried many treatments of medications, IV steroids, procedures, etc and none of them seemed to give him any relief. Fast forward until this Friday, July 7 and our world has turned upside down. My husband was told based on tests to go to the ER. He has been struggling over a month with fatigue, weight loss, and other symptoms. Based on numerous tests, we discovered that he has an infection and his Crohn’s disease has progressed to be severe. The current update is for my husband to be on a PICC semi-permanent IV line with 24/7 nutritional supplements to get his nutrition boosted up back to healthy to prepare for a long and tedious colo-rectal surgery in the hopefully near future. With him being in Madison, Wisconsin I have been commuting daily back and forth 3 hours to see him as I am not allowed to stay overnight. The funds raised will be going to the following items: • money toward gas for my daily commutes • food • eventual hotel stays during surgery and his recovery • financial medical procedures such as the upcoming home health care aids for his PICC line Thank you for taking the time to read this and we would be so grateful for the support of any donations.
