Hi my name is Leslie. As many of you know, my sister Lana has fought a lifelong battle of incurable medical conditions since her early teen years. At 14 years old she feel into a T1D coma and miraculously woke up after weeks of being in the ICU. But the disease was hard on her and landed her in the hospital many times. She continued to fight and has been with us for going on 39 years now, but unfortunately during the last 5 years she has dealt with the worst and developed medical issues. Some due to T1D and some that are rare autoimmune issues that she has no control over. Her kidneys, central nervous system as well as her spleen, abdomen, intestines and bowel functions have taken a hit due to muscular and nerve issues. Her body has taken quite a hit but she continues to fight and makes sure she is here to watch my beautiful niece grow and with the helping hands of her loving husband Tommy, Lana assures herself she has a lot to live for. She is the strongest person I know and I know she will never give up. Unfortunately she cannot work and these medical treatments cost a lot of money and the upkeep to live has caught up to her. My brother in law works so hard and has always promised my little sister that he would take care of her and he does it with such love and grace. We love him so much and are so grateful he loves my little sister the way he does and he will do anything and everything he can to make sure she gets the best treatment to survive and add quality of life. She currently is requiring multiple procedures along with treatments and medications, and specialty doctors. Some medications are not being covered and the out of pocket expenses and requirements are financially atrocious at times. I’m asking for anyone willing to donate to help ease this burden.
