Hello my name is Reyhan, I am originally Turkish and a British citizen. I have lived in London for years. My mother and father lived in Turkey. I lost my father 3 years ago from a cerebral hemorrhage. My mother and I went through a deep trauma after the situation. I brought my mother to London 2 months ago, she was going to stay for a few months and come back. We brought her to London because we missed her as she lived alone in Turkey. My aim was to have a good time with my mother, to serve her, to make her happy. I wanted her to spend a few months with her grandchildren. My mother suffered a cerebral hemorrhage 23 days ago with a sudden headache. (My mother was fine before the cerebral hemorrhage she is 82 years old) . We took her to a hospital by ambulance. She stayed there for 10 days. Doctors said that there was a large hemorrhage on the left side of the brain and her condition was very critical. They could not do the surgery because it was too risky. They didn't want to remove it from intensive care, they said it can go into vegetative life there. They placed my mother in the paralysis observation section. Thank God, my mother opened her eyes on the 4th day, and as the days passed, her consciousness returned a little. does not hold the right side and has speech problems. She was feeding through the nose but switched to mouth feeding. They referred us to another hospital for rehabilitation 10 days later. There was a clot in my mother's lungs so they placed a vena cavas filter. My mother is my everything, I was with her day and night for 23 days and I always prayed. Financial problems arose as my mother struggled to get her back to life. Since my mother is not a British citizen and did not have insurance when she came, they charged us £11,540 on the second day at the hospital, and they said that this money would increase even more. Neither my mother nor I can afford to pay that much. I work part time and take care of my children. The other important issue is that they said that they could take my mother home from the hospital after 10, and they said that I needed to buy a hospital bed, air mattress, special disabled chair, mobility hoist for my mother. Because when my mother leaves the hospital, she will not receive any NHS benefits. Even a prescription drug would not be prescribed. We are in a very difficult situation. My mother cannot return to Turkey because her life is in danger if she travels. Are there ways my mom can get nhs benefits? How can I provide the hospital bed, special disabled chair and other needs that we need when my mother comes home? I would be very grateful if you could help us, appreciate your contributions. I am going through a difficult time , need your support. May God bless you all
