Please, please, help fund my opportunity to study Language and Literature at Oxford University this spring.I'm a first generation college student studing American Studies and English at Wheaton College, and I just found out I've been accepted to Oxford University's Visiting Student Program for two terms of study at Mansfield College. I have worked so hard to get where I am, and to study at Oxford is the greatest opportunity that has ever come my way. Unfortunately, I don't have the money I need to be approved for a visa. My Wheaton scholarships will cover my tuition and housing, but I need to show I have £820 (about $1260) per month to support myself for five months in the UK, in order to obtain a student visa. I work two jobs (research assistant and department assistant), but I'm also taking an extra course and my work study only pays so much. My mom supports us by working fifty hours a week at a grocery store, and saving the amount I need in time would be next to impossible. I have never asked for anything in life except a chance. I have overcome so much and I've availed myself to every possible opportunity, but this is something I can't do myself. I don't have some benevolent savings account or trust fund; I have earned everything I have with my own head and hands. I truly believe that all my hard work culminates in this opportunity to study at Oxford. If you'll help me attend one of the world's best universities, I promise I will leave no book unread and no sentence unstudied. There is nothing more important to me than my education, and studying at Oxford would mean the whole world to me. Please, please, help if you can.
