Hi, My name is Maureen, and I’m helping raise money for my sister, Maribeth. Most of you who know me know about my sister, Mb. Maribeth and her family have been through more than their share of tragedy and heartache. They lost one child to cancer and another to a tragic accident. They have battled and overcome addiction, unemployment, and many financial setbacks and health challenges. Currently they are both working, but money is tight and Rob’s health is an ongoing issue. Maribeth has turned her loss into a mission to help other families like hers who have experienced the unimaginable pain of losing a child. She has written several books and is an active speaker in the Christian community, but her dream is to reach a wider audience. She now has a wonderful opportunity to turn one of her books into an inspiring movie , but needs help with the finances to launch this project. Here is a description of her project: Her mission is to help others find hope despite tragedy and adversity. Maribeth has written two books that chronicle her family's journey through multiple child-loss and addiction. In the nonfiction book, Christopher’s Journey, Rob and Maribeth’s son Chris battled leukemia from the age of 10 till age 14 when he passed. During this time, as Chris’s body grew weaker, his spirit grew stronger. The story is filled with Chris’s irrepressible antics, bucket list fun, and his growing faith that he shares so poignantly with the family before his passing. Chris’s story ends with a miraculous message of hope sent from beyond the grave. The story continues in Maribeth’s faith-based memoir, Dancing in the Minefields, One Woman’s Faith Journey through Child-Loss, Addiction, and Adversity. After Chris’s passing, Rob and Maribeth grapple with alcoholism and their marriage seems doomed. Remembering how Chris surrendered peacefully on his deathbed, Maribeth does the same with her addiction. After a period of separation, Rob also gets sober, and they renegotiate their marriage with Christ at the center. But the story is far from over. The family must deal with financial ruin during the recession, addiction in one of their other children, and a second tragedy, when their other son, Jarrod, is killed in an accident at the age of 21. As Maribeth tells the story she walks the reader through her thought processes, humorous family anecdotes, and her favorite Bible verses. She offers hope and an eternal perspective that guides and encourages others. Today Maribeth speaks at Christian events and is an active volunteer in the recovery community. Getting this story in front of producers requires hiring media and marketing personnel connected to the film industry. This is where your donations will really make a difference. Help Maribeth open those doors! One way that we Christians can fight this spiritual battle is by telling stories like this. “Laughter and tears are only a moment apart, but joy is eternal.” Maribeth Ditmars For more info on Maribeth’s books and work please visit: https://maribethditmars.com/
