Hi everyone my name is Nell Redaniel. Some of you may know me already as we are connected as family and friends, but some of you may not. I am a single mom and early childhood educator (preschool teacher). I volunteer on a non-profit board for early childhood educators and I advocate for professional recognition and higher compensation for teachers to be able to live where they teach and raise their families. Ironically enough, now I need to advocate for myself. I’m someone who doesn’t like to ask for help and I will try to do things all by myself. I’m already embarrassed, disappointed, sad, and stressed that I’m having to post this- but I need help. I went to work on July 6 and while I was in the classroom my only vehicle and all the belongings in was repossessed. I have contacted my finance company and I will need to pay $4745 plus $15 processing fee to retrieve my vehicle. This is my mom-mobile, it’s been reliable and safe to get my daughter and myself to and from work and school, I chaperone and drive on her classmates on every class field trip, and we use it to run errands like grocery shopping, laundry, and gig work like Amazon and Shipt. I need my vehicle to bring my daughter to school which is about a 15 min drive 8 miles from where we live, I also volunteer at her school once a week. I need my vehicle to pick her up after work, which is 20 mins (with no traffic) and is 13 mile drive. Not to mention if there is an emergency and I need to get to her quickly, having a vehicle allows me to do so. If you have made it this far I truly appreciate you hearing me out, it’s been a hard financial year- I went part-time in December to be more present with my daughter and volunteer at her school more- her teacher was concerned with her attention seeking/sensory seeking behavior and suggested I talk to her pediatrician about possible ADHD. I do everything for my daughter, but I’m not a perfect mom or a perfect person. I have a big heart and I love the job I do, but California/Bay Area living is expensive and I just have so many bills to pay- while going part time was great for helping my daughter and being with her- I fell behind on my payments. Im back to work full time now and I’m also continuing my contract work in Social Media Marketing, and looking for better opportunities for both me and my daughter like maybe working and attending a school in the same school district. Any help would be great, I have so many friends and family if 50-60 people each donated $100 I could meet my goal! I don’t know what I would do without you all! Thank you
