My name is Donna, and on May 18th, 2024 my world crumbled around me. I had been dealing with sciatica, and degenerative disc issues for a long time but I was suddenly experiencing so much pain that I went to the ER. The initial CT scan indicated metastatic cancer, so I was transferred to the Tucson Medical Center. I spent the next week in the hospital undergoing CT scans, a liver biopsy, MRIs, and a heavy dose of chemotherapy. I had endured breast cancer seven years prior, but it was caught early. After a lumpectomy and radiation treatment, I was good; so being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that had spread to my bones and liver has been truly devastating. Currently, my oncologist has prescribed the endocrine treatment Verzenio, with the hormone blocker Anastrozole. The side effects can be serious, but the hope is this treatment will slow the spread of cancer. Due to the severity of my condition, I have not been able to return to work. The cancer in my bones caused some fractures, so we're waiting to see if they will heal enough to alleviate the pain. Alongside the physical and emotional toll, the financial burden has become quite stressful. Medical bills continue to pile up. My 20 percent copay for PET scans is $900 and they are necessary every three months. Daily living expenses, as well as my mortgage, have become challenging. If you find it in your heart to support me during this difficult time, any donation would be greatly appreciated. Your generosity will make a significant difference in my life, and I will be forever grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read and share my story. Your well-wishes and prayers are truly cherished. God bless you. Donna (Young) Bourne
