First I would like to say welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit my LFEBridge page, it means so much to me and hopefully to my siblings as well one day. Over a year and half ago now my mother passed away from an unexpected car accident. During this time a number of things were taking place. After some absence, my mother Melissa and I were rekindling our relationship, which was turning out to be an amazing experience that was cut way to short. Also at this time my mother and her husband Derek were in the process of a divorce. Well as I said before, tragedy struck and my mother passed away. Derek was imediately given custody over the children as he was the father of two of them and agreed to keep the older two as well since they are still young and the courts wanted them to stay together. At first everything was fine, well as fine as it could be with mom gone, but at least I was still welcomed to come around for holidays and occasional pop-in surprise visits and just be apart of my siblings lives. Well fast forward a year and those visits have all been taken from me. At first I was only allowed to see them when they went to my grandmothers house instead of in their own and those holiday visits were completely gone. Then after some more time had passed, Derek decided that I was no longer allowed to see them at all because he "believes" me to be a bad influence. So now I have taken it upon myself to get a lawyer and fight this fight the right way since Derek has decided that I'm no longer allowed to be part of their lives and has already given up the oldest child to the system and will not release any information about his whereabouts to the rest of the family. The lawyer I have been in contact with believes I will be able to get custody of the oldest as well as the second oldest since they are not Derek's children and at least visitation with the youngest two. So now I'm reaching out to friends, family and anyone else that can help me fight this battle. I'm looking at a long road of lawyer and court fees just to make sure my siblings are well cared for and loved. Any donation to my LFEBridge page would be GREATLY appreciated. Your help will go a long way and I promise to keep everyone updated throughout my journey.
