Hello, my name is Kari Scott and Markus is my great-nephew. Markus was a healthy typical teenager looking forward to turning 18. On May 3rd his life was flipped upside down....he had a Grand Mal seizure lasting 12 minutes and was rushed to the ER. On June 5th his family was told he had a brain tumor and he was scheduled for surgery on June 9th. Pathology reports came back and Markus and his family were informed that he had brain cancer. Last week Markus and his family were informed that he has a very rare form of cancer that was only just discovered in 2024 and there are less than 50 cases recorded. The doctors say that it is curable with a chemo/radiation regimen. He will have 6 weeks of radiation with chemo once a week. He will then have a 4-week break followed by 6 months of chemotherapy where he will have chemo 3 days a week each month. He was at Riley Hospital today to get his port and he heads down to Cincinnati tomorrow to have his first visit with the doctor there. He will be traveling back and forth between Cincinnatie and Indy. As you can imagine there is a great need for Prayer and financial assistance to help cover medical costs and traveling costs. Please pray for the doctors to have the right direction, and pray for Markus and healing. Pray for peace for Markus and his family as they make these big decisions and live through this event. If you feel led to support Markus financially, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Let's help Markus kick Cancer to the curb so that he can live his young life to the fullest!
