As many of you may know my granddaughter Lua was born 7 weeks early and had to spend her first 5 weeks in the NICU. During her birth she had trauma to her brain and kidneys and it was found that my daughter had fetal maternal hemorrhaging during the course of her pregnancy which caused Lua to have an emergency birth and blood loss. Basically the placenta was stealing Lua's blood and she had to have blood transfusions and was unable to eat on her own at first. The doctors also found hemorrhaging on her brain. During her last MRI the neurologist found that some of this has healed, however the rest will not be known until she gets older and starts developing more. Lua has weekly high risk follow-up appointments and her kidneys and brain have to be monitored closely for a few years at least. My daughter is currently unable to work due to the amount of Lua's care and the times of her appointments. Lua's dad lives out of town. They receive some assistance through Helping Me Grow, WIC, and other government programs but the assistance does not cover much. I have been able to pay her rent and car payment so far, but I have also been out of work due to a recent surgery, so I am about at my end with being able to pay for all of our bills. I have seen LFEBridge's asking for help paying for funeral expenses once someone has passed and this time I'm asking to please help my daughter and granddaughter who is just beginning her chance at life. I appreciate you all taking the time to read this. Thank you everything, especially your support and prayers. I'm going to also attach (if I'm able) an Amazon wish list, which includes items that Lua will need on a continuous basis. Anything helps Thank you again so much!
