Hi! My name is Lief and I am a Non-binary Jewish disabled person who is raising money for a gender affirming double mastectomy. I have been living as a non-binary person in my social life and online for ten years, have been going to therapy for just as long, and have spent the last five years considering if I want this surgery and now I am finally sure that this is the path I want for myself. I struggle with back and neck pain as well as issues binding due to the size of my breasts and struggle with a body distortion disorder called body dysphoria that complicates my depression. I want them gone for the sake of my mental and physical well-being. I am a loving friend and parent who tries my best to make everyone feel included and listened to. I work as a disability and mental health advocate as well as offering services to help other with anxiety surrounding sex in their relationships due to gender or mental health issues like moderate to severe anxiety. I believe that everyone should be made to feel comfortable with their body and their partners bodies and I seek to provide a comforting and welcoming environment for those who struggle with social interactions, shame surrounding nudity or sex, communication, self discovery, and identity surrounding sex as well. My goal is set to cover consultation fees in addition to the surgery quote cost the surgeon I have chosen has given me, as well as help affording a plane ticket to their surgery center as well as back home. There is a very real chance my health insurance provider will help me cover some of the costs as they include trans healthcare in their coverage, which would mean this goal would likely pay for hotel costs as well, since I will need to pay for a week's stay at most. If not, then this goal will at the very least cover what I've stated. This procedure will help me feel at home in my own body, as well as making me a healthier and happier person overall. Every donation no matter how small is appreciated from the bottom of my heart. And if you are reading this, I want you to know that you deserve happiness, love, and support in regards to your identity and body goals; whether that means making changes with medical intervention or making no changes- you matter and deserve to be accepted for who you are. Thank you so much for reading this and for your time. Zayt gazunt, be well. ♥️
