Dear friends and equestrian community, Our beloved friend, Lesley Stevenson has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. She has been out of work for the past month and has a long battle ahead of her. She will be undergoing 6 to 7 rounds of chemotherapy with a surgery to remove the tumors halfway through. As you all know, Lesley has touched the many lives of both people and horses. This is a time when Lesley needs our help emotionally and financially to be able to sustain her. When she isn’t feeling well, she isn’t able to work. Being self employed, there are no sick days or health benefits. If we can all come together to donate what we can to the kindest, wisest and most loved equine trainer, we can take one worry off her plate while she focuses on the bigger picture for the next 6-9 months…beating this cancer. Lesley loves her beach walks and finds so much joy in her beautiful surroundings here in Santa Barbara. I know she has a large online community of people she has touched along the way and if we can all give back, she can focus her energy on healing the cancer and get back to healing the horses and teaching the riders who love her. We can all rally together to alleviate the financial burden that arises when battling cancer. Your compassion and generosity will make a tangible difference in Lesley’s journey and help cover medical bills, medical treatments, medications, monthly rent, groceries, etc. My hope is she’ll be back at the arena surrounded by horses, enriching our lives and doing what she loves the most once she gets this cancer under control. Thank you in advance for your support, kindness and compassion. Please share this fundraiser far and wide. Leandra Rhodes on behalf of Lesley Stevenson
