Erin and Joe’s daughter, Leni Mae Messing is a brave 7-year-old girl who recently went through a life-altering medical ordeal. Leni's journey began when she experienced an unimaginable 2 1/2 - 3 hour seizure, which led to her being airlifted to a children's hospital in Texas. Upon arrival at the hospital, Leni's dedicated medical team worked tirelessly to determine the cause of her seizure. After numerous tests, it was discovered that she was suffering from both viral meningitis and encephalitis, two severe neurological conditions. These illnesses have left Leni with a long road to recovery ahead of her. Over the past few days, Leni has undergone extensive treatments, including rounds of medications, therapies, and rehabilitation sessions. Her incredible spirit and determination have shown us just how resilient she is, but the path to recovery remains challenging. Leni's therapies encompass physical and occupational therapy, all aimed at helping her regain her strength and abilities. Unfortunately, the costs associated with Leni's medical care and ongoing therapies have placed a tremendous financial burden on her family.
