Hello, my name is Laura. I am a disabled trans woman. I live and work as a writer in Brooklyn. I am currently in my second year of being on hormone replacement therapy, and being trans has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I am in the process of undergoing multiple gender-affirming surgical procedures. This year alone I have 4 separate procedures scheduled. This week I am undergoing the second of these, all of which are covered by my insurance. I will be needing assistance to pay for a recovery period including aftercare, groceries, and additional medical costs. I do not have any immediate family or support system to rely on at this time. I am forced to ask for help. Right now I'm living in safe and stable housing for the first time in my adult life thanks in part to a previous fundraiser I ran last year, and I hate that I am in a position to raise money again but I find myself still needing to ask for help. Until May of this year, I had been working as a copywriter doing blurbs for a major streaming corporation, where I was laid off along with around 3,000 other people. Since then, due to some family issues and the poor job market, I have not secured a new position, and have been supporting myself with freelance work and side hustles. Incidentally, if you or anyone you know needs a copywriter please contact me. I appreciate your help and even reading this. I have learned in the past few years that the only things that can truly be relied on are friends and mutual aid. Thank you so much <3. Venmo: @lzwynne
