This is our brother, Kurt. Most people know him for his incredible work ethic, selflessness, and dedication to his family. As our brother, we also know him for his colorful use of the "F word", his ability to make mom angry by flipping the bird during dinner, and his aversion to talking about his feelings. Kurt's wife, Jessica, son, Brody (18) and daughter, Harper (13) know him as a loving husband and proud father who works as many hours as he can every day to support them. In July, Kurt was diagnosed with Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma, which is a blood cancer that develops in the plasma cells and bone marrow. To say this will be a long road to recovery is an understatement, so we are hoping to help alleviate some of the pressure their family is facing during this time. Kurt's cancer is in most of his bones, mainly his spine, and the pain has been unbearable due to the lytic lesions. He will be undergoing chemo for the next 4-5 months and just recieved his first treatment on his 46th birthday. He will then head to Mayo where he will need to stay for 5 weeks while receiving a stem cell transplant. Our brother is the hardest working guy we know - his focus has now changed from going to work every day to fighting this invisible battle within himself. Combining everyone's support with Kurt's drive to "get shit done" we hope to see him giving cancer the middle finger it deserves! We are setting this up so Kurt and Jessica can focus on his care and keep his health the top priority. As we all know, there will be a plethora of expenses that will be added on to Kurt and his family during this already stressful time. All donations gathered here will go directly toward costs associated with his care. We appreciate any support you are willing to contribute. Once his cancer is in remission and Kurt is back to work any additional funds will be donated to another family in need or a non-profit organization researching Multiple Myeloma.
