Hi, Friends of Christine/Stella/Steen:As you are probably aware, Christine’s dad (Ed “Brown” Komlos) was diagnosed with pneumonia; however, once it wouldn’t go away, they ran further tests to determine Eddie had Leukemia. Since then, Ed underwent weeks of grueling, taxing and physically draining rounds of chemotherapy. He had to stay in the hospital during this time as it brought his immune system down to dangerous levels. Unfortunately, the chemo did not work. Ed has been in and out of the hospital battling pneumonia as his immune system gets weaker and weaker from the cancer invading his body. He now is in ICU at the Clinic. He is intubated and kidneys are failing.Knowing all of this, Christine couldn’t be away from her family. She has traveled back to Ohio from Ocean City a few times already and is there now indefinately. Christine is there for her family, just like she has been there for me, and I’m sure a lot of you. She has missed work, bought last minute plane tickets as she hears changes in her dad’s health, and even hotel expenses to stay up in Cleveland near her dad. As you could imagine, the travel expenses, and especially the medical expenses are piling up. Friends – we ask you to help the Komlos family so that some of their medical expenses won't be so burdensome on them. Any amount --big or small -- that you can give would mean the world to them and we are eternally grateful for all of the love and support during this difficult time. Christine will probably kill us for doing this, but living in California and Florida and seeing your BFF go through something like this sucks.
