Hi, I'm Duncan and over the next 3 months I'll be completing 4 challenges to raise funds for a special young man called Kieran. In November 2024 at just 23 years old Kieran Shingler was diagnosed with a brain tumour, after several operations to remove as much of the tumour as possible he was heart-breakingly told it was a Glioblastoma – a fast growing, aggressive and cancerous brain tumour. Kieran is fighting this with his usual dogged determination and has undergone radiotherapy and several rounds of chemotherapy so far. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer and so far we have raised over £13,000 for Cancer Research via our collective Kieran’s Krew fundraising page. My funding raising will support Kieran’s ongoing medication, which need to be purchased separately from the NHS alongside private immunotherapy which is again not available on the NHS. Challenge 1: 8th July - 12 hour Spinathon Challenge 2: 6th August - Boundary Breeze Olympic Triathon Challenge 3: 9th September - Alderford Lake Middle Distance 1.2m swim Challenge 4: 17th September - Ironman 70.3 Weymouth Please give generously and together we can make both a big difference in Kieran’s quality of life and also his chances of beating this awful illness.
