On the night of July 7th, 2024 at approximately 11-11:30pm, my ex boyfriend who I had an order of protection on climbed through my window and set fire to my one bedroom basement apartment located located in Rogers Park. I was fresh out of the shower when it came to my attention that my ex was in the unit, after a verbal dispute, I called 911 and my ex entered the bedroom from which he came and I never saw him walk back out of the unit. Moments later I heard the fire alarm go off and my tabby cat ran to me frantically. I got up to check the bedroom and that’s when I smelled the smoke and saw the flames. My bedroom was completely on fire and I had nothing but moments to find my Crocs and and leave the unit through the back door. Again, I was fresh out of the shower so I had nothing on but a purple dry towel and my Crocs. I’ve lost everything that belongs to my name in that apartment due to it either being burnt or having water damage from the firefighters putting out the fire. I’ve lost all of my clothes, shoes, personal items, important documents such as my birth certificate, technology such as my laptop and tablet, etc. I was let go from my job and was replaced with a tablet in  January and been on multiple job interviews but due to my COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) condition and me being morbidly obese, jobs do not hire me. I also suffer from bipolar-depression and this whole ordeal has been a doozy on my mental health. Also, I have two tabby cats that luckily survived the fire. Jean Grey and Denise and I do not have the funds to care for them at the moment but I refuse to give them away because they are both my emotional support animals and I truly love and need my babies. Main point is if anyone can find it in their heart to donate to my LFEBridge so that I can get back on my feet and regain all that’s lost, it would be much appreciated. Just $2 from you would make a very big difference in my life but if you are not able to donate, PLEASE SHARE THIS. Thank you for taking time to read about my situation and God bless all who come across this LFEBridge.
