Hi, my name is Carm and I am fundraising for my amazing nephew Anthony. Anthony was diagnosed with sarcoma on the bottom of his foot on April 2, 2024. He has undergone radiation treatment without success and as a result of the sarcoma growing and invading over 70% of his foot, amputation is the only option to prevent further spread of this aggressive cancer. Anthony’s journey will be a long and difficult one but we have complete faith that he will overcome and live a long, healthy and productive life. The loss of a limb is an extremely difficult hurdle and the unbelievably high cost of prosthetic limbs only adds to the challenge. Only through donations, grants and insurance can Anthony afford the prosthetics he will need to live his best life. A prosthetic leg can range from $20,000 to over $100,000 AND they last an average of 3 to 5 years. Anthony is 19 years old, you can imagine the cost associated with keeping him walking for his entire long life ahead. There will also be the cost of modifying his home to ensure Anthony is safe at all times. Anthony loves to bike ride, row with his university dragon boat rowing team, garden, swim (a waterproof prosthetic is needed for this) walk on the beach and on nature trails. Anthony is an active young man who should not be limited by an amputation so we, his entire family, will do all we can to ensure Anthony has all he needs to continue to do what he loves. We are starting with asking for help! Help from you to ensure he will continue to walk and enjoy what we take for granted, standing on our own two feet as we move through life. Please give generously, please spread the word and help us raise enough money to keep Anthony walking for years to come. Most of all pray for the courage and peace Anthony needs to overcome this enormous hurdle,. Thank you
