On June 17th, 2024, Frank and Charity Reyna welcomed their sweet baby boy, Kayce David Reyna, into the world. Many of you know that he was born 13 weeks earlier than expected at 2 lbs and 1.75 oz. This preemie baby has been nothing short of a miracle that we praise God for! With that being said, there is a great need right now in Kayce's life due to the complications he has faced. Since he was born Kayce has faced the following challenges: -He started in NICU at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. -Trouble with a typical feeding schedule, which has had to be modified . -Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) and had to stop all feeds and start antibiotics for 7 days. For two weeks, all had seemed to finally be settling down, until doctors confirmed that the NEC had come back. This brings us to where Kayce is today. He has been transferred to CHOA Scottish Rite incase he needed surgery. His little belly is so inflamed and his bowels have an infection. Kayce faced a scare on the x-rays recently that made them believe surgery may be needed that day but luckily, a later X-ray looked a little better. He has had 4 blood transfusions and a platelet transfusion. He is currently on a vent so that he doesn't have to work so hard to breathe. He is being monitored closely in case immediate surgery is required. We are so thankful that Kayce is in the care of healthcare heroes that are working around the clock to watch over him, but, it does come at a hefty price. We as a family are asking that you will first and foremost pray for our sweet boy. The Lord has brought him to us and we know there is no getting through this battle without him! Secondly, we ask if you are able and willing that you will consider donating to this LFEBridge to help Frank and Charity pay for the medical expenses following Kacey's care. We thank you for taking the time to read this and ask that you will share Kayce's story and need with others if you are willing to do so. A little help goes a long way, and we recognize that we cannot do this alone!
