Hey Gang! I'm Markie P, and I'm the Executive Director of the organization Music is our Medicine. We are a non-profit that is dedicated to helping those in need within our community. This time, it's one that hits close to home. One of my best friends, KJB has several medical issues that require a list of daunting medications, supplies, and appointment visits. She is not one to ask for help, is hardheaded, stubborn, and tries to do things on her own, so I'll most likely get my butt kicked for starting this, but that's ok. She's worth it. Her condition has been stated as one of the worst that any of the doctors have seen or dealt with, with many not willing to give a good or positive prognosis. I want to change that. She is one of the strongest, most stubborn, dedicated, and determined persons I know and gives one helluva fight. Halloween means a lot to her and is one of her favorite holidays, so I want to make this one just as special and add many more years to come for her to spend with her granddaughter. Monies donated to this fundraiser will go towards the medical bills that have accumulated with the most recent hospital stays, medications, medical supplies, an upcoming specialist trip to NY and related travel expenses for her and the family, and to help cover some of the household expenses that overextends beyond the limited income. This specialist in NY, could help with some surgeries that could change her condition but would carry a large list of associated costs for transportation, lodging, and other medical necessities that would go along with it. For the time being, she has decided to go on Hospice for care management, and has been purchasing all of the medical supplies off of Amazon. Because of these added expenses, that had put an even larger strain and stress on her, her body, and her well-being. Even though she is working with Hospice, this is by no means an indication of giving up, or giving in to her condition. She’s not giving up, and I don’t plan on it either. Let her know how much she’s loved, and help support this fight. Hospice is only a temporary support working with her primary doctors, pain management, and other specialists for care management while waiting for the consultation from the Doctors in New York. She’s in this all in, and is doing everything she can on her own. She’s a Bennett and will always put up one hell of a fight! She’s a fighter!
