My son’s childhood best friend, Joseph Epps or “Cole” to his family and friends, will be nineteen years old in less than a week. In the past two months, Cole has not had the best of times like most 18-year-olds. He loves skateboarding, reading, playing video games, and hanging out with his friends after working at Kroger. Cole isn’t able to do any of these things now or in the near future. Cole was a healthy teen boy with no known health issues until his brother found him having a seizure on the morning of May 17th. Cole was rushed to the Piedmont Hospital in Athens, GA. They found that he had a vein rupture within his brain. Cole was then rushed to the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA, where he underwent multiple surgeries, a medical coma, and to currently staying in the ICU. He has been diagnosed with Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) and Hydrocephalus. We need help raising money and support through these tough times aiming for the goal to transfer him to the Shepherd Center, where he starts his road to recovery. With love and support, he’ll be able to start physical, occupational, and speech therapy with radiation treatment to heal. His parents are struggling to take turns visiting him through these times with missing work, traveling hours back and forth, ADA accommodations, and being on the look for a future caregiver. Any donation or prayer is really appreciated, and we pray for a smooth recovery. With love and support, he’ll one day be able to do what he loves again. Please keep Cole in your hearts and prayers.
