John Brooner is my stepdad. He is also, a husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, father and mentor to many in recovery. He has given himself to his community through county and family services. He helps his local women's shelter through hard work, runs AA groups and volunteers for many other community services, events, etc. He takes enormous pleasure in sharing his spiritual practices and helping others in need. I am reaching out to anyone who sees this post, to donate or share this, so we can reach as many as possible. John has been diagnosed with a lung disease and was advised he only has a short time to survive without a lung transplant. The GOOD news is he has been approved and much of the expense will be covered. We just need assistance with his medical housing co-payment and food, as he requires housing near the hospital for 8 weeks to ensure a successful recovery. John now has a Venmo (account @John-brooner) and a Zelle account (5303103672). We set up a special savings account so these would post directly to it. Our goal is $15,000.00 for food and housing expenses. If you know John, you know he is uncomfortable with asking for financial assistance. He helps so many others while often putting his own needs on the back burner. But right now he needs the support of the community that he has supported time and time again.
