On May 17, 2024 our lives were flipped upside. As our family was dealing with a huge loss, we were hit with another huge obstacle. This time, it was my sister. Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer. Our hearts shattered. She found a lump. That lump would be sent for a biopsy and determined as cancer. After several tests, another biopsy of her other breast, more tests and then we throw our family history into the equation. Jennifer made the brave, aggressive decision to have a bilateral mastectomy. She handled surgery like a beast. She really is so strong. I am in awe at her strength. Biopsy of Jenn’s lymph nodes tested positive for cancer. Honestly, we NEVER expected that. We were so sure that her mastectomy would be completed, she would recover and heal. Next step would be reconstruction and life would move on. Life proved us wrong. Jennifer has been diagnosed with Stage 2, hormone positive, invasive ductal carcinoma with positive axillary lymph nodes. Strong words used, to really mean. You need chemo. Her plan is long. 5 months of chemotherapy. I'm not sure what we expected, I can say we did not expect to hear the Dr say 5 months of chemotherapy and still the possibility of radiation as well. Jenn is still trying to put this all together and hold herself together. Did I mention how absolutely friggin strong she is?? She will continue to be a wife, a mother, a daughter, an aunt and my sister. She'll continue to be strong and a fighter. I look forward to the day I can say she's a breast cancer SURVIVOR!! We're setting a goal to help Jenn with these medical expenses and to purchase a Cancer Cold Capping System. A small way to help Jenn during her long months of chemotherapy and in an effort to maintain her hair loss. Together we can help Jennifer get through this, and raise funds to help financially. Please consider donating to take a layer of stress from Jennifer No one is prepared for the diagnosis of cancer. We can’t thank you enough for your continued prayers and support for Jenn and our family. Love to all!
