Dear friends and family, We are kindly requesting your support and generosity for our beloved Donna Anderson's son, Jayden, who is currently in crisis battling a severe case of topical steroid withdrawal (TSW) after years of being treated with corticosteroids for severe eczema and atopic dermatitis (AD). Jayden's situation has reached a critical point, and has left him with no quality of life, rarely able to leave his bedroom for the last three years. His skin barrier has been severely damaged and compromised leading to excruciating pain and unbearable neuropathic itching. He is often unable to bear the sensation of his skin on a bed or a chair so his days and nights are spent just teetering on the edge of his chair, which causes tremendous muscle pain and spasms. His immune system has gone haywire resulting in severe allergies, inflammation, lymphedema, swelling, and the constant threat of life threatening infections. After exhausting all available resources, they have come to a crucial crossroad where the expertise of the top specialists and researchers at the Mayo Clinic is desperately needed. His insurance is not accepted and they require a large cash deposit. He is currently in crisis and at risk of another life threatening infection. His mind and body cannot take much more of this daily torture and he is weakening by the day. Donna, as a single mom, faces the overwhelming task of caring for Jayden full time while also supporting her other children and mother. Those who know Donna, know she has faced her own struggles with health and battle with breast cancer this last year. While overwhelmed, she continues to show up with a brave face and smile for her family, friends, colleagues and clients. The Mayo Clinic represents a last hope to help Jayden overcome his battle, but the financial burden is too great to bear alone. We humbly request your generous donations to cover Jayden's medical expenses, including medical transportation, accommodation, consultations, tests, and treatments at the Mayo Clinic.
